The Squadrons
More than 50 squadrons from 7 nations were stationed at RAF North Weald, in both
war and peace. The forts was No.39 Squadron of the Royal Flying Corps in August
1916 and the last, 111 Squadron the famous "Black Arrows", which left North Weald
in February 1958.
