This plaque is an expression of the British community´s lasting gratitude
to the 2,500 Czechoslovak airmen who served
with the Royal Air Force between 1940 and 1945 for the freedom of Europe,
many of whom were subsequently persecuted by the communist regime in Czechoslovakia.

It was unveiled by the United Kingdom Vice Chief of the Defence Staff,
Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach KCB CBE ADC RAF, on 18th June 2014.

Its complements a monument in Prague and stands in recognition of the Slovak contribution
to the air campaign.
It is a gift to the Slovak people from the British community
living and working in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
